Crystal Riggins
Crystal is a fierce advocate for healthy eating and community, back in Colorado She coordinated and ran a school garden to cafeteria program, teaching kids how to plant, tend, harvest and cook their hard work. A real benefit to this was hearing how the kids shared their experiences with their parents teaching the adults things they did not know. Crystal also co-created a community outreach program bringing upper and lower income families together to share meals. She hopes these experiences will help her create new opportunities for sharing at the farm.

Steve Riggins
After a stint playing bass in a punk band, Steve began his career as a graphic designer, eventually becoming a vice president in the experiential design and advertising industry and then CMO of an international development agency. After juggling the CMO gig and rebuilding the family farm for a few years, Steve took a leap of faith in 2016 leaving the international job behind him and put his energy full time into the immediate needs of the farm. Knowing that he couldn’t just shut off the designer side of his brain, Steve created ideaFarm studios, a company focused on design, brand building, and strategy. Steve is also an adjunct instructor in the graphic design department at DMACC.

Tosh Holmes
Another transplant from Colorado, Tosh moved to Iowa shortly after graduating from Colorado State University. Like Steve, Tosh also has an eye for art and design — a passion he has had since childhood. When he isn’t glued to his computer, sketchbook or wood burning tools, Tosh enjoys taking advantage of all the space the farm has to offer by shooting his compound and traditional bows.
